The background music is now the feature.

In late 2015, four UCSD Music students banded together with a unifying idea: an ensemble dedicated to playing music from video games, anime, and films.

That, along with the word "Intermission" in fancy font on a UCSD concert program, and The Intermission Ensemble was born. After the first concert in Spring 2016, our initial small ensemble expanded enough to necessitate a name change to The Intermission Orchestra. Today, we are a full symphonic orchestra that holds three concerts a year and performs at events such as the Triton Gaming Expo, Winter GameFest, and Animefest.

We hope to bring music from your favorite media to life, as well as increase recognition for this genre of music.
